Kirk - : . Established in 1892 as "Emil Møllers telefonfabriker" in Horsens, Denmark, the company was the first Danish manufacturer of telephones, and one of the first companies in the world to manufacture wall-mounted telephones with separate talking and listening facilities. In 1937 the company acquired the KIRK name from its owner at the time, Kristian Kirk, and became "Kristian Kirks telefonfabriker". Under his leadership, manufacturing techniques were changed from individual production to mass production, and the telephone gradually became an everyday item. Following the death of Kristian Kirk in 1940, his nephew Gregers Kirk inherited the company and became the managing director. He was an active business man, and in his time the company became a conglomerate of companies - ranging from household electronics to international transportation.
